Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered outside the gate. Therefore, let us go forth to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach. For we have no continuing city here, but we seek one to come.
Select a thought to read by choosing a collection, the month, and then the day:
“Behold! I have refined thee . . . I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.”
Isaiah 48:10
After all is said and done, the difference between those who are cast by Jesus into the Lake of Fire in the Final Judgment and those whom he saves and blesses with eternal peace may simply be the difference between being “fine” or being “refined”.
If you choose the ways of men, then men will tell you that you are a “fine” fellow. If you choose the ways of God, He will “refine” you and purify your soul as gold so that you will be worthy to stand in His presence.
So, which will you choose, the approval of men or the approval of God? Will you be “fine” and be lost, or will you be “refined” and see the face of God?
