Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered outside the gate. Therefore, let us go forth to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach. For we have no continuing city here, but we seek one to come.

Pastor John,
This is Donna. The e-mails this morning have stirred up some good thoughts about God! I was thinking this morning about how we have been reminded of the Lord’s words through Sandy (earlier) that we are “still a proud people”. When I woke up this morning, that was the first thing on my mind. I was asking the Lord, “How is it that we are still a proud people? How are we proud? How do we NOT be proud?” I made a list of what I was hearing in the Spirit:
Pride:
makes you . . .
slow to hear,
swift to talk,
too fast,
think “me” - not “you”,
neglect your own work,
not see fault in yourself,
see lots of faults in others,
unwilling to forgive,
have a haughty appearance
Then came another list.
Humbleness:
makes you . . .
look for peace
pray for safety
look for good
love gentleness
love kindness
love sincerity
love hope
love wisdom
love knowledge

Sister Donna:
May God give us grace to live a life characterized by humility and faith. We all need mercy from our heavenly Father. I am listening now to my favorite song (at least for this month), which is Brother Gary’s song, “Say I Believe”. God help us not only to say that we believe but also to do it, from the heart.
