Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered outside the gate. Therefore, let us go forth to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach. For we have no continuing city here, but we seek one to come.
Select a thought to read by choosing a collection, the month, and then the day:
Many times, after reading the 12th and 14th chapters of 1Corinthians, the Corinthians are criticized by Christians because “they did not use their gifts rightly.” I don’t agree with that criticism necessarily, but even if it is justified, my thinking is this: Would to God that we had the Corinthians’ problem! Would to God that we had so many gifts of the Spirit working among us that we needed help from an apostle to get it all straight!
In that letter, Paul was talking about matters which are, to this point, beyond us. Pray with me that God will give us the problems with gifts of the Spirit that the Corinthians had because if He does, we will have been raised up from the lowly plane that all His children live on in our time.
Some problems in the spirit cannot be had until we draw close enough to God to have them.
