Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered outside the gate. Therefore, let us go forth to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach. For we have no continuing city here, but we seek one to come.

Hi John:
I wanted to share with you some thoughts I had this morning on my way in to work. I was praying and talking to God, and these words came out of my mouth: “Don’t let me be afraid to let you save me.” Over and over again, I would say, “Don’t let me be afraid to let you save me!” It felt so good to be able to say those words again and again.
I started thinking about what has transpired over the past week in the Louisville Friday night meeting and the meeting CD of the Wednesday night meeting in NC and over the weekend. Then, I thought about the fear I felt in the Friday meeting, and how clean that felt to me.
It was not a tormenting fear; it was a saving fear, meant to save us and anyone who needed to repent. It was an opportunity to get free of sin. As I was lying in the floor, I was searching every thought and looking for anything I could find to repent of and looking to feel it from God and move quickly to get rid of it. It was a fearful thing, but a good one, meant to save us. I thank God for that prayer this morning: “Don’t let me be afraid to let you save me.” That is our hope.

=============
Thank you, Stuart for that testimony. A simple study of the word “fear” in the Bible shows us the great value of the fear of God. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” But the nature of man is to fear God in the wrong way, as if God is cruel and doesn’t fully understand us.
I do sincerely hope that God will help us not to be afraid to be blessed by Him and saved in the end. Having been infected for centuries with the disease of Christianity, God’s children today are afraid of the truth. Satan, the god of Christianity, knows that the truth will set God’s people free; he fears the truth more than anything else, and he trains those who are imprisoned by him to feel the same way. Pray for God’s people, Stuart, that God will help them not to be afraid when He tries to give them the antidote to Christianity: the truth.
To pray not to be afraid to be blessed by God and saved from the darkness that is around us is a very wise prayer for all of us to pray. Who knows what God is trying to save us from, right now, but in fear of it, we are pushing Him away? I know that I have done that in the past. I have refused to receive something that I later discovered was truly of God. And I thank God for having mercy on me, that He did not throw me away when I tried to throw Him away.
