Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered outside the gate.  Therefore, let us go forth to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach.  For we have no continuing city here, but we seek one to come.

Securing Your Financial Future

From a comment made by a Christian minister on Television.

There were many shrewd men, expert in money matters, who lost everything during the Great Depression of 1929. Many thousands of people were ruined financially. In the big downturn in our economy in 1987, a few investors committed suicide when the stock market went sour; at least one, according to news reports, murdered his financial advisor as well, before killing himself. Those investors and financial consultants may have known how to manage money under certain conditions, but they could not secure their financial future because this world’s conditions are very uncertain.

Regardless of your ability to manage money, you cannot make your possessions secure by shrewd investments. There is only one group of people anywhere who can secure their financial future, and they are the people who love and obey God. Solomon told his son, “Honor the Lord with thy substance and with the firstfruits of all thine increase. So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine” (Prov. 3:9-10).

Wise Solomon loved his son and wanted him to have a happy life; he would not have led him in the wrong direction. His whole heart was in his instructions, and his heart was filled with more wisdom from God than any other man before Christ ever possessed.

No financial plan is wise that omits man’s obligation to honor the Creator.
