If you obey the will of God, you will receive your best reward from God, no matter what anyone else in your life does. This may seem not to be the case when your husband or wife forsakes the Lord and abandons your family, or when you lose some other person or thing that is dear to you. But for those who love God and obey Him, what is really happening in such cases is that God is clearing out of your way the things and people you do not need and who may, in fact, actually be hindering you from receiving your best.
God is always right. He is always working all things together for the good of those who love and obey Him. Trust God. Nobody ever takes away your best when you are obeying the Lord.
