The only kind of religion that is acceptable to God is what I call “U-turn religion”. U-turn religion is religion that originates with Him, comes to us and through us, and then is returned to Him from us. God sends us His Spirit, and we take it and send back to Him “spiritual sacrifices”. God gives us His truth, and we take it and confess the truth before Him. Only what comes from God is acceptable to God. Nothing of earth is clean enough to meet His standards.
No one on earth is capable of worshiping God acceptably without first receiving from God the wherewithal to worship Him. The proper order of worship in God’s kingdom is clear: God sends us His Spirit, we receive it, and then we return to God the praise and honor that the Spirit inspires us to give. That is true worship, the U-turn kind.
