Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered outside the gate.  Therefore, let us go forth to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach.  For we have no continuing city here, but we seek one to come.

THE GOAL OF THE GOSPEL!

It's good to be right, but it is better to be good. When "being right" is our goal, we tend to be less kind to others, ridiculing their errors in order to emphasize our "rightness", but that makes us ungodly (un-God-like), for God isn't like that. Jesus wants us to be good to all others, just as our heavenly Father has been patient and good to all mankind (Mt. 5:48).

The only way to be good, as our heavenly Father is good, is to be filled with His holy Spirit (Rom. 8:1). That makes us partakers of God's divine nature (2Pet. 1:4), in which goodness is the natural thing to do. Jesus encouraged us to ask the Father for His Spirit (Lk. 11:9-13). He told his disciples that it makes God happy to give it to people (Lk. 12:32).

God is for us, not against us. He knows how wicked men are, but He still will help us if we call on Him. He wants us to be good, like Him, so that we can be happy. And He will make us good if we are willing to change our ways. If you want to be good instead of evil, God will help you. That is the goal of the gospel of Jesus.
