Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered outside the gate.  Therefore, let us go forth to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach.  For we have no continuing city here, but we seek one to come.

Thought for Today
Nov. 07

"THERE IS NOTHING HUMAN ABOUT GOD!"

God is not a great big one of us. Moses told Israel, "God is not a man," (Num. 23:19). Many ancient people imagined their gods to be like men, mightier than morals, but with weaknesses and, at times, very wicked. But the true God, the God of the saints, is never weak or evil.

God told Isaiah (55:8), "My thoughts are not your thoughts, and My ways are not your ways." There is nothing about God that is human. God is not like us at all, and we are blessed that He is not.

We can, however, be like Him! Through Jesus, His Son, God has made a way for us to think the way He thinks and to live the way He lives. We have access to the mind and heart of the Father though the Spirit that He sent back to men on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2). Let us take advantage of this golden opportunity to know and be like our Creator.

How much like your Creator are you?
