Solomon said, “He that hasteth with his feet sinneth.” This means that every person who is habitually in a hurry is rushing away from righteousness and toward sin. No one can walk perfectly before God if he is walking too fast. We have to slow down to be holy. Faith is not afraid to wait on God and do things His way.
There is a phrase which recently came up during a conversation with some saints that describes this spirit of haste pretty well. Since the days of Albert Einstein, especially, men have become aware of the concept of “the speed of light”, and we hear people speak of it often. But those who live in a hurry are living at “the speed of darkness”, and they are sure to stumble.
