Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered outside the gate.  Therefore, let us go forth to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach.  For we have no continuing city here, but we seek one to come.

What Is Not Christian, Part 10
Walking in the Light Together, or “Fellowship”

We believers will have to come out of Christianity if we are ever to become one in the light of Jesus Christ, for walking in unity is not a Christian thing to do.

Christians are as divided as can possibly be. There are thousands of Christian sects and sub-sects around the world, and to be a good Christian, one must choose one of those sects to join. And in doing so, one divides himself from Christians who chose to join a different sect.

Unity in the faith of Jesus is not Christian. Fellowship with the Father and the Son is not Christian. If fellowship were Christian, all Christians would be united and do as Paul exhorted the saints in Corinth to do: “I appeal to you, brothers, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same understanding and in the same judgment” (1Cor. 1:10). That is not a description of Christianity; it is description of fellowship in Christ.

God is calling us to come out of Christianity because He is calling us into fellowship with Him and with each other; that is, He is calling us to stop trying to be Christians and start acting like Him. This is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus, brothers and sisters, because acting like our heavenly Father is very much not the Christian thing to do.

May God give us all ears to hear and hearts to understand what the Spirit is saying to the body of Christ.
