Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered outside the gate.  Therefore, let us go forth to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach.  For we have no continuing city here, but we seek one to come.

THE GOSPEL, PART THREE

I recently listened to a CD from a prayer meeting in Pastor John’s house that took place on June 5th, 2004. In it, Pastor John was telling of a dream he had in which Jesus was preaching to him. He said that Jesus preached to him in his dream for about half an hour on the glory of the Gospel. This is the third of five TFE’s taken from Pastor John’s sermon in that prayer meeting concerning what the Lord preached to him about the Gospel.

If anyone would like a copy of that sermon and that prayer meeting, let us know.

Paul said, “Give no room, no place, to the Devil.” And what the true Gospel shows us is that we give place to the Devil when we accept his offer for a place in his religion, Christianity. When you accept his invitation to become a Christian and join his religion, you have given him a place in your heart. But God can give you a place in the body of Christ. You give place to the Devil by taking a place in his religion. When God is saying to you, “Come out of her, my people”, He is saying, “Cast that devil out of my house.” It’s not so much “What are you doing there?” as it is “What is he doing there?” What is his doctrine doing in your heart? Why is his spirit influencing you? Cast him out, and you’ll be out! And you’ll be alright. All you have to do is love the Gospel, and the Devil will get out. Get full enough of it, and Satan can’t stand you.

God cast Satan out of heaven by the Gospel. Satan is afraid of this Gospel. He gets nervous when God’s people get close to it. In just about every case I know of, when God starts revealing to one of His children the truth of the Gospel, Satan’s ministers start offering them prestigious titles and responsibilities. They were about to get him out of God’s place, so he persuaded them to take another, higher place. In effect, Satan said to them, “Let me give you a bigger place, a greater portion in my kingdom.” “Stay with me” he says. “Be a good Christian, and don’t go away.” I never saw it so clear as I did today when Jesus was preaching to me that when Satan invites you to “come down to the altar”, he is asking for a place, a place in your heart. If you don’t stay full of the Gospel, Satan is going to fool you. None of us can match him in cunning, but we don’t have to worry about that. All we have to do is stay full of the Gospel. You don’t even have to think about it. Satan can’t fool the holy Ghost or anyone who is full of it.

What have you been offered instead of the Gospel?
