Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered outside the gate.  Therefore, let us go forth to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach.  For we have no continuing city here, but we seek one to come.

INADVERTENT CONFESSIONS

From conversations with Preacher Clark in the late 1970's.

False accusations are "inadvertent confessions". Those who falsely accuse others are unwittingly confessing their own faults. Their accusations reveal secret things about them. You must have your ears opened by Jesus in order to hear what is really being said when a false accusation is made, but once that happens, a new world of understanding unfolds to you. This is a wonderful bit of wisdom to possess, and it is a pattern that has never changed. The Bible is replete with examples of it.

Wicked Shemei accused King David of wickedness (2Sam. 16:5-7). Liars accused the prophet Jeremiah of lying (Jer. 43:2). False prophets through the Old Testament accused God's prophets of prophesying falsely. Some of the children of the devil in Israel (Jn. 8:48) accused Jesus of being demon-possessed (Jn. 8:44). Heretics accused the apostle Paul of heresy (Acts 24:14). And Paul was struck in the face for being disrespectful to Israel's high priest by men who showed no respect for Israel's true high priest in heaven (Acts 23:1-4). In the 1970's, some overly sophisticated college professors started teaching that God was dead. What did that tell us about those men?

I, and some others who have found and loved the truth, have at times been accused by Christians and their ministers of horrible crimes of which we were completely innocent. They did not know that, when they made those accusations, they were revealing what was in their hearts. If false accusers knew they were exposing their own sins by their false accusations, they would be ashamed to do so. But assuming that their secrets are hidden, they pursue their evil course.

IT MUST BE FALSE!

Not all accusations are "inadvertent confessions", mind you, just the false ones. In order for an accusation to qualify as an "inadvertent confession", it must be completely untrue. If you are accused of a wrong, and the accusation is even in a small measure true, it cannot be said that the accusation is a confession. If the accusation contains some truth, even though false statements are mixed in, it may actually come to you from your heavenly Father to correct a fault and to perfect your faith. That is a good thing.

But if you ever are accused of something of which you are completely innocent, you can be assured that the accuser is confessing his own secret fault to you-and to anyone else who has "ears to hear".
