Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered outside the gate. Therefore, let us go forth to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach. For we have no continuing city here, but we seek one to come.

We will not be saved without God. Paul said that before we came to Christ Jesus, we were "without God and without hope in the world." To be without God is to be without hope. Contact with God is absolutely essential for anyone who would be saved. How do we have contact with God? He is in heaven, and we are on earth. Paul taught that we have access to God by the Spirit (Eph. 2:18). To be without the holy Ghost is to be without God. Paul made this point clear when he bluntly wrote, "If any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his" (Rom. 8).
We must repent and receive the Spirit of God in order to be saved in the end because we must have God in order to be saved in the end. Having God in our hearts is the most essential of all that is required of those who would be saved, and anyone who refuses the holy Ghost has refused Him.
