Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered outside the gate.  Therefore, let us go forth to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach.  For we have no continuing city here, but we seek one to come.

Nothing But God’s Business

A testimony by Billy Mellick

Hi Pastor John,

Last weekend, I was staying with Uncle Earl & Aunt Betty. As I was leaning over the kitchen sink, I was watching the bright red sun come up through the trees when the Spirit asked me a question, . . . What was going on in God’s temple? In a blink, I was rehearsing all of the goings on: the killing of the animals, the sacrifice of them, the preparation of the Levites, the care taking of the Temple/Tabernacle, The Day of Atonement, etc. But, before I could get all of that out, the Spirit summarized all of that to this: “Nothing but God’s Business.”

Then the scripture came to my mind: “Know ye not that your body is the temple of God.” Then, I talked with God and said, “Lord, if we have your Spirit, and you have taken your abode in our earthly tabernacle like you did with the OT Tabernacle, then there should be nothin’ going on in our bodies but Your business . . . everything else does not belong in our temples.”

God had an order and a purpose for every detail in planning the tabernacle with Moses, and every detail in the plans He gave King David that his son Solomon built for the Temple at Jerusalem. Now if we are God’s temple, then there is a purpose for every detail in our lives!

It was only when Israel disobeyed God and served idols that God abandoned that Temple. If we through disobedience bring anything in our bodies that is not God’s design, then God will abandon us and turn us over to be pillaged, just like what happened to Israel when God left it to the Babylonians.

Nations came in and took everything of value in the Temple away. As you have stated, “You may be wearing some of the gold today.” If we let our Temple of the holy Ghost get filled with unclean things that are not God’s business, then we become Christianity. No wonder babel means, “confused”.

Christian ministers have overtaken God’s people and have defiled their Temple. They have filled God’s temple with every ordinance and ceremonial work that has never been ordained by God, and God’s people have been put in bondage to worship Christian idols instead of worshipping God in Spirit and in Truth.

But we can be like the child King Josiah and tear the idols down, and cleanse the Temple (our bodies), so that God will take up His abode in His Temple again. It all starts with doing things God’s way according to the plan He has Given through His son Jesus.

In God’s temple there is righteousness, and peace, and joy. In Christian temples there is nothing but confusion. In God’s temple there is Spirit and Truth. In Christian temples there is rebellion and self-righteousness. In God’s temple there is eternal Life, in Christian temples there is nothing but eternal torment.

Jesus himself said, “I must be about my Father’s business.” Jesus never did anything unless it was what God gave him to do. GOD’S BUSINESS.
