Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered outside the gate.  Therefore, let us go forth to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach.  For we have no continuing city here, but we seek one to come.

Getting Past Things

From a conversation with Sister Tracey Hinnant.

When Sister Tracey was talking to the Lord one day about the reason for the difficult trials she was dealing with in this life, the Lord responded,“I put you through things to get you past things.” That was such a sweet answer from the Lord! I was thankful for that.

Now, everybody on this planet, including God’s people, go through things. And what struck me after Tracey told me about the Lord’s answer to her was this thought: each individual will be a cheerful person or a bitter person based upon what he spends his life looking at, whether at what God is putting him through or at what God is getting him past.

Child of God, your heavenly Father is putting you through something right now. That is, by God’s wise design, the human condition. You can do what most people do and concentrate only on what God is putting you through. But if you do, in time you will become a frustrated soul because in this life, it is a never-ending process. As long as you walk on earth, you will be going through things – things that your loving Father has appointed for you.

If you can look at it through the eyes of faith, the next day does not bring a challenge as much as it does an opportunity. The happiest and most blessed people are they who see God’s purposes behind their circumstances. No one can be discouraged or bitter when he discovers what God is really up to in the midst of the trials that He sends his way.
